BEREFT #poetry by jay

good intentions are imagination
ridiculous notions of higher intent
undercut your purpose

the right to reason
the logic of it all
flies out the window

and you get lost
on the surface material
of cliches—

hollowed-out-words
bereft
of any meaningful phrases.

  1. I like this Jay. I was just writing a chart on the cycle of Shame or Beat up for my book and how to circumvent it to get back to our intentions.

    Great lines❣️

  2. Very interesting what you say here Jay, although, personally,I am a supporter of good intentions (even if they self-destruct) I am curious about your image…talk to me a bit about it.as it reminds me of a dream I had. Always enjoy reading you:)
