SWINGING BACKWARD #poetry by jay

i’m a man of

little words

and big ways

i live large

in a small

space

give me silence

yet hear me

scream

i fit well into

no man’s land

go to battle

with a close fisted

hand

swinging backward

towards

a violent past

in my dreams

i wrestle demons

and,

wake up to

battle

all over

again.
