BREATH #poetry by jay

everybody is seeking retribution for not breathing

the people cannot breathe and long for freedom

the oppression of ‘other than’

‘the other’ of all lands has risen and demands breath

for decades, the lungs of people have receded

not grown, and now, now they demand air, growth, change

like the mad sea churning, searching for new surf

boundaries shift creating undulating curves

widening the girth of humanity, to build, connect over

mountains onto plains onto oceans onto lands, anew

with change,

unstoppable in force, in breath, in storm.

To BE,

to breathe free.
