Until I Met You

I was a painter until I met you

One day I jumped

when the earth opened up

and here I am today,

stuck on your words

that blew me away

Now I can’t stop

I’m almost over

the top,

up, up, up!

I never saw so much beauty

waiting,

elated to play

I was a painter until I met you,

your words just blew me away

Rushing home at the end of the day

I never knew I had so much to say

I opened my mind

to dive upon

the gushing waters

of time,

never once looking

behind,

all my sadness swallowed

by the tide,

Spat back

when,

my creativity died.

I was a painter until I met you,

One day.
