This is My Day

You’re so blue you say

Bummer- no fun to be around

But hey- this is my day

You just get in my way

Tomorrow is a brighter day

Take your lips and pull them

From the ground

This is my moment to frown

You’re so blue you say

Forget trying to appease

Squeeze the juice from the leaves

And drink the poison if you please

But hey- this is my day

Pull your sadness back together

I’ll spread my depression

And catch it all the better

You’re so blue you say

No joy in my heart

No fun in the sun

But hey- this is my day

I will wallow in my muck

No fun if I want

So, take your

‘Dragged out’ mood

To your truck

And drive yourself

Straight out of luck

This is my day to be blue- not you.

“The best thing for being sad ... is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. ... That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting.” --- T.H. White
